Virtual Office Guide

Onboarding new employees has always been very important for companies and a lot of effort has been assigned to deal with this to optimize and reduce start-up costs.

Dealing with Covid-19 restrictions has made it even more important and has called for new ways to handle this.

A Virtual Office guide will serve as a tool not only for new employees but also as a tool to maintain current staff´s knowledge about the company or the specific facilities.

CASE: Ramboll HQ on-Boarding

The Problem
Ramboll is assigning new employees each month both in the Copenhagen HQ and in other cities. Onboarding has always been highly prioritized in Ramboll. For instance, it was previously mandatory for all new employees in Denmark to visit the HQ as part of the introduction.
The Covid-19 situation has called for new ways of performing this effectively.

The solution
A 3D model of Ramboll HQ in Copenhagen was built and used in the onboarding. The user is guided to explore the building through a series of 3D animations and that way get acquainted with the facilities and the company.
The guided tour is based on Ramboll´s Check, Act & Learn concept launched as an App and made available in App store.

The solution is developed by Ramboll’s Interactive Solutions team in collaboration with Facility Management, HR, and Project & Portfolio Management.

The gain

  • New employees can explore their working environment and personal working space virtually before they start
  • Shorter introduction period
  • Better understanding of the company culture and history
