Possibility to allow external access to chemicals Safety Datasheets through QR codes
In the top right corner buttons to manage QR codes for all chemical at once are added.
- The QR code button will generate a PDF with all of the QR codes and the name of the chemical it belongs to, ready for printing and sticking to the chemicals they belong to.
- The eye button opens a page very similar to the pdf, but in a webpage format allowing you to decide what to do with all of the codes. If they need to be printed or sent to someone else. This page also has an option to open the same PDF.
- The generate button will generate a QR code for all chemicals in your register. Be aware that this will allow to access to all the Safety Datasheets in your register to someone with all of the QR codes. We recommend rotating the QR codes at some interval to ensure only those intended have access to the documents. This document can be used to re-generate all codes, making existing ones useless. Make sure to update the QR codes you have stuck to the chemicals after re-generation.
- The trash button will delete all of the QR codes. If you no longer want or need access to the Safety Datasheets, this button will effectively disable all access.
External access to the Safety Datasheets is enabled from your account settings page. None of the buttons or functions will be enabled until this setting has been turned on. If you suspect someone unauthorized has access to QR codes they should not, you can re-generate them, or disable access entirely.
All of these buttons are also available for individual chemicals, with one additional:
- The link button will show you the page the QR code sends people to. If there is only a single attachment on the chemical, it will open that directly. If there are more, it will open a page with a list so the user can choose which document they need.
